Windows 11 will run on Steam Deck like a champ, thanks to AMD

Video Gamers and PC techies have been waiting for Steam to support AMD’s new SteamOS since its launch in 2015. Now, it looks like they’ll have to wait a little longer. However, the day is not completely lost. AMD announced that its Steam Machines will be running Windows 10 and SteamOS. Ironically, the new OS was designed by Valve, but it will be running on a Steam Machine, something Valve is also working on.

AMD has released a new graphics card for the latest Windows 10 operating system, called the AMD Radeon Pro WX 21. The card is aimed specifically at virtual reality, and will be utilised to power virtual reality devices like the HTC Vive and the Oculus Rift. The card is equipped with 4GB of DDR5 memory, and will run at 1,792MHz (boosted). It is equipped with 4 DisplayPort 1.4 and 1 HDMI 2.0 connectors, and is equipped with AMD’s new Radeon Software Adrenalin Edition driver.

Steam, the popular online gaming service that millions use to play computer games, has announced that it plans to fully support Windows 11 , even in its lowest available position known as XP Mode. XP Mode is a free security update that can be downloaded from the Windows support site, allowing Windows users to access the entire Windows 10 OS .

Since the announcement of this new device, Valve has said that it will be a powerful PC capable of running almost everything a normal PC can.

Since this is all that people speak about these days, everyone is wondering whether this gadget would be able to run Microsoft’s new operating system.

Windows 11 will be supported by Steam Deck.

Valve is allegedly collaborating with another firm that specializes in operating systems and hardware to guarantee that the forthcoming device is up to the task.

And, because compatibility with Windows 11 is the most essential element in deciding how capable a new device will be, Steam Deck will not be an exception.

According to recent statements made by Valve executives, the firm is unconcerned about how Steam Deck will do.

And after working on the Trusted Compatibility Module (TPM), to working with AMD in order to ensure Windows 11 compatibility, Valve is already taking steps to ensure that the device doesn’t run into issues on this front.

And, as you may have guessed, AMD was selected since Steam Deck runs on the company’s CPUs.

We’ve spent so much time on Windows 10 so far that we haven’t even scratched the surface. We believe we will be able to achieve that goal. It’s also a topic of discussion with AMD to ensure that we can handle it at the BIOS level,” he said. “So far, there’s nothing to suggest that Windows 11 will cause any problems.

The AMD team, as developers of the unique silicon at the core of the Steam Deck, the Zen 2/RDNA 2 APU, is on hand to guarantee that the new hardware is ready for Windows 11 on a basic level.
