Bradley Beal Calls Bull on Latest Trade Rumors

Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal, a restricted free agent this summer, has been the subject of trade speculation for some time now. With the Wizards’ star center set to enter free agency this summer, many observers believe that the team will improve by trading him to the team that gives him the best chance to win. But Beal, a reporter with the Washington Post, says that may not be the case:

Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal will not be a part of the Boston Celtics trade, a person with knowledge of the deal told ESPN’s, Chris Haynes.

Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards tweeted out that it was wrong to be reporting on trade rumors involving him. He said: “I don’t know what’s going on. I’m not getting traded. I’m not getting a hold of anything. It’s very fake news. I’m super happy here. I love it here. I love everything about it. I just want to continue to get better.”

Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards has been included in recent NBA trade speculations, but it’s just hearsay. At least, that’s what Beal seems to be implying.

Teams have long wanted the 28-year-old, hoping that the Wizards would ultimately deal him. Opponents want to play with Beal as well. Meanwhile, Washington maintains that the combo guard is a key component for a team that is trying to find long-term success.

Beal is once again the subject of trade rumors just days before the NBA draft. He is, however, giving supporters the impression that he will not seek a transfer.

Bradley Beal was said to be considering a trade request ahead of the NBA draft.

The news has circulated around NBA front offices that Bradley Beal is considering requesting a trade from the Washington Wizards.

One person familiar with Beal’s thinking stated, “He understands he needs to make a choice before the draft.”

The NBA trade rumor mill erupted over the weekend when Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer claimed that Beal was contemplating making a trade request before the NBA draft on Thursday.

Beal emphasized his willingness to see things through in Washington and help the Wizards become Wizards on a regular basis. Prior to the draft, though, a source close to Beal informed Fischer that the situation was more “fluid.”

Candidates were forced to scurry as a result of the news. The Golden State Warriors are one of the teams hoping to make a statement and sign Beal.

Beal was said to be the Dubs’ primary target if he became available, according to reports. Clubs like the Philadelphia 76ers, Boston Celtics, and Miami Heat were all on Beal’s list of potential new teams, according to Fischer.

Despite the uproar created by rumors of Beal’s doubt, the Wizards star remains committed to the team.

With a subtle move on Twitter, Beal seemed to indicate the reports were untrue.

While Beal has always felt at ease expressing his opinion, he remained rather quiet when confronted with the news reports. Only the keenest onlookers picked up on his hint that the reports were untrue.

Beal “liked” a tweet showing the cover of Dr. Seuss’ The Cat in the Hat, but with the phrase “The Cap On This App” in lieu of the title. It’s certainly conceivable that Beal liked the tweet for other reasons. However, there seems to be a link between the time of the article outlining his potential trade request and his liking for the tweet.

Furthermore, according to Fred Katz of The Athletic, Beal has not sought trade and there isn’t even a “timid hint” that he intends to do so. Katz also said that Beal is seen as untouchable by the organization.

Beal is dissatisfied with the Wizards’ new head coach. Beal reportedly wanted Sam Cassell to win the position, which the Wizards eventually handed to Wes Unseld Jr., according to Katz.

Despite this, Beal seemed to suggest that he intends to remain in D.C. after the dust settles.

How can the Wizards construct a defense around Beal?

Beal’s demands are likely to be granted or he will have greater say in personnel choices in Washington. How can the Wizards construct a defense around him?

Russell Westbrook’s deal puts the Wizards at a disadvantage. Westbrook has been linked to the Los Angeles Lakers in a potential sign-and-trade deal, according to some sources. Moving the former league MVP may help the Wizards clear cap space while also enabling them to acquire assets.

Last season, Beal and Westbrook seemed to have developed a good connection. Perhaps Beal might want to play with The Brodie in the future, forcing Washington to be very creative in its search for ways to improve the squad.

In any event, Wizards GM Tommy Shepherd has work to do if he wants to keep his top guard. Otherwise, the rumors’ “smoke” might dissipate, and Beal could seek for a way out.

The Washington Wizards have been saying all summer that they expect to trade swingman Bradley Beal at the NBA trade deadline.
